How much an interior designer costs in Israel
Typical Israeli market prices for a designer and an architect, what each fee covers, and how to compare quotes.

An interior designer in Israel charges from about 300 shekels for a consultation to tens of thousands for a full design. Midrag's price guide lists a consultation at 300 to 550 shekels and styling a one-floor apartment, with meetings and shopping, at 8,000 to 10,000 shekels.
Prices on this page are market prices from Midrag's published guides, including VAT. They are not Moriah Veg's fees.

How designers charge
- By the hour or session: for consultations. Midrag puts an hour of design advice at 350 to 500 shekels.
- By the item: plans, renderings, a bill of quantities or a shopping day, priced one by one.
- By the project: a fixed fee for the whole design, agreed after a first meeting.
What an architect costs in Israel
| Architect service | Market price (shekels) |
|---|---|
| Architect consultation | 450 to 700 |
| Plans and permit for a mamad | 15,000 to 25,000 |
| Plans and permit for one added room | 20,000 to 35,000 |
| Planning a 150 m² house, without interior design | 45,000 to 80,000 |
| Planning a 150 m² house, with interior design | 60,000 to 140,000 |
Midrag also says architects often charge about 3% to 7% of the construction cost for a private home. Source: Midrag architect price guide.
One studio for the architect and the designer
An architect for the permit and a separate designer for the rooms means two fees, two sets of meetings and plans that must be redrawn to match. One person who does both, like Moriah Veg, draws it once.
How to compare quotes
- List what each quote includes: consultations, plans, how many renderings, site visits, shopping, styling.
- Ask how changes are charged after the plans are approved.
- Ask whether VAT is included.
- Look at the designer's real projects, not only renderings.
Questions about design fees
Is the consultation fee credited later?
Often. Midrag notes that the consultation fee is usually folded into the final design price. Ask before you book.
Does Moriah publish prices?
Moriah quotes each project after the free call, once she knows the home and the scope.
